2nd International ASTRA conference in Gdansk, 26-28 October 2006

CLIMATE CHANGE ADAPTATION AND FLOOD RISKS IN COASTAL AREAS

The aim of the 2nd ASTRA conference was to raise awareness on climate change in the Baltic Sea Region and to present climate change research and possible climate impacts in the studied areas. This conference is organized in the framework of the project "Developing Policies and Adaptation Strategies to Climate Change in the Baltic Sea Region"(ASTRA). The conference is financed and supported by the BSR Interreg IIIB Neighborhood Program and the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education.

The conference took place on the 26-28 October 2006 in the Polish Geological Institute, Marine Geology Branch venue: Koscierska 5 Str., Gdansk Oliwa, Poland

The target groups were planners, decision makers, politicians, scientists and the interested public. The number of participants was 101.Participants came from alomst all countries participating in ASTRA project: Estonia, Finland, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland.
